To Compare Mean Time Taken for Tracheal Intubation with Airtraq Versus Macintosh Laryngoscope in Elective Surgeries: A Randomised Clinical Trial

Objective: To compare mean time taken for tracheal intubation with Airtraq versus Macintosh laryngoscope in elective surgeries.
 Study Design: This is a Randomized control trial (RCT) study.
 Setting: carried out at Department of Anaesthesiology, Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Pain Management, Clinic, Dow University Health Sciences Dr. Ruth Pfau Hospital Karachi, from June 2016 to November 2016.
 Materials Methods: A total 60 patients divided 30 each group randomly i.e. Group B who scheduled surgery fulfill the inclusion criteria. All were received intravenous glycopyrolate 0.2 mg, tramadol 2 mg/kg, midazolam 0.03 mg/kg 10 minutes before induction anesthesia. Induction was done propofol 2-2.5 minimum 3 given maximum effect muscle relaxant. Time intubate trachea noted seconds entered into predesigned proforma.
 Results: The analysis included data on all between 18 50 years age during study period after applying exclusion Mean ± SD 36.85±8.47 37.49±9.32 years. In Gender distribution 11 (36%) male 19 (64%) female 8 (27%) 22 (73%) respectively. By comparing both groups 35±7.8 21±4.2 P value found be highly significant (0.0001). 
 Conclusion: It concluded that more effective instrument than Laryngoscope use routine airway management duration successful shorter group.
